This new romance web series comes with a talented cast comprising Jung Hae-In portraying Seung Hyo and Jung So-Min portraying Bae Seok-Ryu as leads with Kim Ji-eun, Lee Seung Hyun, Yoon Ji-On, and many others in supporting roles.

The Storyline: What Is “Love Next Door” About?

This web series is about two childhood friends who parted ways once they became adults but somehow destiny brings them together again. This story talks about a girl who leaves her job in America to start fresh in her hometown in South Korea but things get rough when her mother doesn’t like her presence there. But things start to get better when her childhood friend comes in there for rescue and makes her life easier by accompanying her for a new start.

What in episodes 1 and 2 of “Love Next Door”

The web series starts with the mothers of the two main characters Seung Hyo and Bae Seok-Ryu who are busy fighting about their kids. Both mothers are friends since their kids were 5 and they can’t stop bragging about their kids in front of each other. Seung Hyo is a successful architect and a former national-level swimmer. Ryu topped her university and is currently working in the U.S. for a company that’s owned by one of the richest persons in the country.

As shown in the episode Ryu is getting married in the U.S. whereas Seung Hyo is receiving the best Architect award but things take a turn when in the next scene we see Ryu landing in South Korea hiding from her mother. While it is interesting to see why Ryu is hiding from her family we didn’t expect her to collide with Seung Hyo but that is exactly what happens next.

As the story moves forward Ryu somehow confronts her mother about the back story behind her presence in South Korea. Ryu drops a bomb as she says that she left her job and her fiance cheats on her and that is where we see the end of the first episode.

The next episode as the story continues starts with Seung Hyo and Ryu remembering their childhood memories when they used to do a part-time job in a restaurant cleaning dishes and earning pocket money. Then we see Ryu opening up in front of her mother about losing her job as she was getting tired of doing the same thing for 10 years and also about her fiance cheating on her.

Then the scene shifts where Ryu visits Seung Hyo’s new office and talks to his employees about how she and Seung Hyo became friends. She then describes how she helped him learn the language, did his babysitting, and taught him how to spend money. But on the other side, Seung Hyo had a different story as he confronted Ryu always teased and made fun of him.

Then, we see a sour relationship between Ryu and her mother, as her mother is ashamed and upset about Ryu’s presence in South Korea after she leaves her job. Ryu on the other side was also disappointed about how her mother turned her room into a storeroom and her unfriendly treatment for her. But at the end of the episode, Seung Hyo comes as the guarding angel giving a shoulder to Ryu and renovating her room with her mother’s permission.

What’s Next in “Love Next Door”?

After a happy ending to the second episode, the web series moves on with a positive note but it’s too early to expect anything. We saw a chemistry building up between Hyo and Ryu as the story moves forward but can it be our dilemma or there is still something left about the unnoticed past? The web series moves ahead with a positive start as the viewers are tempted for the next episodes to be released.
